Compulsory orientation in Lautech

Have you heard of compulsory orientation before? If No, then you are not alone. But i'll tell you that in Lautech presently the acting V.C Prof M.L Nassar has invited the freshers to a compulsory orientation.
The invitation goes thus

"Re-scheduled 2010/2011 Orientation programme for all fresh students

The Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof. M.L. Nassar invites all fresh students to a compulsory 2010/2011 orientation programme, starting on Monday 7th February, 2011 at 1200 Lecture Theatre.

Attendance is compulsory for all fresh students.

Is this a make up for the orientation they could not have this week. I wonder what universities this days are now turning to - a barracks where the students will be treated like zombie or what? When did orientation become a must?

Is that how the v.c and other principal officers had their orientation. I sincerely don't know what this world is turning to.

Its sooooo bad to the extent that I'm short of words to express it.
